Depending on the corporate environment and dress code, pantsuits may be acceptable. The next step down from a traditional business suit would be a blouse, skirt and complementary jacket or blazer. If you are interested in advancing in your career, it's always a good idea to dress for the job you want, not the job you have, and it never hurts to emulate the dress code of other women executives in the office.
