The name is playful and cute, but Not Your Daughter's Jeans means serious business! The innovative company specializes in denim that's touted as "The Original Tummy Tuck Jean." For the wearer, that equates to a slimmer, shapelier silhouette.

The concept behind Not Your Daughter's Jeans is one that just about every woman in the world can relate to. The company was born of the desire to help women look and feel sexier in their jeans. Founder Lisa Rudes-Sandel has denim in her blood; her father is George Rudes, who lead denim giant Saint Germain to great success during the 1970s and '80s. She founded NYDJ in 2003 with her sister Leslie. Both women recognized that there was a demand not being addressed by virtually any of the denim labels on the market at the time. NYDJ sought to fill these gaps by creating jeans that:

• Lift the behind and smooth the hips to create a curvier, more contoured lower half
• Control love handles
• Go one size smaller!

These slimming jeans are a hit. With so many different styles to choose from, it's no wonder NYDJ have become such favorites of celebrities and non-celebrities alike. There's a denim style for everyone! Among the selections are:

A boot leg jean is easily one of the more flattering cuts available. NYDJ offers nine varieties of boot leg jeans in a range of shades and rises. If your tastes are more classic and simple, opt for the Classic Indigo or Overdye style. If you're more fashion-forward and trendy, take a peek at the Top Stitch, which features bold top stitching on dark blue denim.

Wide leg jeans appear particularly smart when paired with fitted tops. NYDJ offers seven varieties in this category, ranging from the particularly comfortable Silky Soft (great for Casual Friday at the office!) to Pinstripe.

The unique side entry system prevents unsightly bulges at the belly and results in a smoother silhouette from top to bottom. Three styles are available, ranging from classic pinstripes to super soft denim.

As with other NYDJ styles, the inverted welt style features pockets that are sewn closer together to lend the appearance of a smaller backside. This is a great choice for women who have fuller behinds and is available in two styles.

The trendy skinny leg jean style is not for everyone – for example, women with large hips or thighs may not feel comfortable wearing this particular look. These feature a smaller leg opening and are available in two classic styles.

Go for something a little different with the boot leg trouser collection. This group of eight smart, well-constructed pieces consists of tailored jeans and trousers with flawless silhouettes.
